Introduction to Open Education Resources (OERs) at McGill University

Introduction to Open Education Resources (OERs) at McGill University

This presentation will discuss the development and implications of Open Educational Resources (OERs) in the university context. Over the past few years, the Students’ Society of McGill University (SSMU) has advocated for more sustainable and financially accessible alternatives to expensive, hard-copy textbooks.

Participants will learn about the creation of OERs at McGill and how to further implement accessible learning in the classroom. An overview will be provided on existing projects at the institutional and provincial level, along with the heightened relevance of OERs in the world of remote learning.

You can find more information about OERs on both the SSMU and McGill Library websites.

The workshop will be given by:

Clariza-Isabel CASTRO (she/her/elle)
Open Educational Resources (OER) Coordinator | Coordinatrice des ressources éducatives libres (REL)
