Book Launch | Andrea Creech and Colin Enright, Editors
The Marvin Duchow Music Library, Prof. Andrea Creech, and Colin Enright invite you to the launch of their edited volume: Pedagogies for Later-Life Music Learning and Participation: Facilitating Creative Musical Development in Later-Life
Open Access link: https://mcgill.on.worldcat.org/oclc/1527668898
This book explores how meaningful and creative music-making can be supported among older adults. Drawing on case study examples, the book examines pedagogy as improvisation, the ways that technology can support later-life music-making, and the pedagogies that can promote creativity, a sense of belonging, musical identity, and even musical development in later life. The book concludes with an innovative pedagogical model to support critical reflection on values, frameworks, and practices in later-life music learning and participation. The book is open access and will be accessible and relevant for music researchers and educators, music education students, and community music leaders alike.
