Album Launch | Chris Paul Harman: Works (2019-2023)

The Marvin Duchow Music Library and Prof. Chris Harman invite you to an album launch to celebrate the release of a recording featuring some of his recent compositions: Chris Paul Harman: Works (2019-2023) (Redshift Music, 2024).

The six works on this recording were written for friends and colleagues who are or who have been associated with the Schulich School of Music, McGill University, where the composer has taught since 2005. The recording sessions were produced by Martha de Francisco who supervised three of her advanced master’s students in production and engineering capacities. Drawing on music by Bach, Clementi and Kuhlau, these works constitute a type of neo-classicism that is characteristic of the composer's recent practice. For more information, see the label's website.

Please join us in celebrating the culmination of this recording project. Doors open at 6pm. During the program beginning at 6:30pm, Chris Harman will describe the evolution of the project and attendees will have the opportunity to hear an excerpt from the album.
