This session will cover emerging open access (OA) trends and best practices for publishing and sharing research data. The open science principles of transparency, reusability, and reproducibility will also be discussed. Participants will learn about depositing data in trustworthy repositories, OA license options for data, and community norms related to the availability of research data. Case studies in open data will be presented for discussion, including a focus on COVID-19 open data in both medical and social science contexts.
