Metrics from the "Big 3" citation indexes

There are three indexes that tower over the others when we think about gathering and analyzing citation metrics: Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar. Join us as we explore the strengths and challenges of each in generating article, author, and journal metrics. If you are not sure where to find an h-index or the journal impact factor, or why you might want to, this workshop is for you.

For each of the "Big 3" citation indexes we will look at their overall coverage of published literature, how they calculate citation metrics, the availabilty of alternative metrics, and their tools for data analysis and visualization.
