Workshop on Writing Op-Eds and Analytical Commentary with Dr. Diane DeChief

(Virtual/ Online Event with Professional Live Captions in English)

You need to sign up on eventbrite to get the zoom link (we do this to prevent zoombombing): https://www.eventbrite.com/.../workshop-on-writing-op-eds...

Dr. Diane DeChief will lead a workshop on writing Op-Eds and analytical commentary pieces. The first part of the workshop will be a presentation. During the second part of the workshop, participants will be broken into small groups via breakout rooms in order to workshop their Op-Ed ideas. Only the first part of the workshop will be recorded. You are welcome to attend just the first part if you prefer.

This event is open to academics of many levels: faculty, independent scholars, and graduate students.
You are welcome to eat your lunch during this lunchtime workshop.

Dr. Dechief is the Science Communication Specialist at the Office for Science Education McGill University. She was formerly Faculty Lecturer at McGill University’s Writing Centre where she designed, taught, and coordinated writing courses focussed on science communication and digital genres.

This event is part of the 3rd Season of the Feminist and Accessible Publishing and Communications Technologies Speaker and Workshop Series (https://www.feministandaccessiblepublishingandtechnology.com), organized by Dr. Alex Ketchum.

Season 3 of our series was made possible thanks to our sponsors: SSHRC (and the Initiative for Digital Citizen Research), the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies (IGSF), the DIGS Lab, Milieux, Initiative for Indigenous Futures, MILA, and the McGill Writing Centre.

There is no fee required to attend this event. We will provide captions in english. The first part of this event will be recorded and made available on our website after the event: https://www.feministandaccessiblepublishingandtechnology....
