Ethical considerations in research data management
This workshop will focus on the connection between poor research data management and the potential for harm. Attendees will learn about options for storing data securely, especially data that contain personally identifiable information (PII) or personal health information (PHI) involving human participants. This workshop will highlight examples of research data management best practices involving the kinds of sensitive data that are most commonly collected or analyzed, including: human participant data, intellectual property/confidential data, third-party licensed data, and additional forms of protected or regulated data. Attendees will have a chance to chat about issues or questions related to their own research data toward the end of the workshop session.
