Leaves and Leaves: Foraging on Campus and in McGill’s Rare Books and Special Collections (RSVP OUTDOOR ONLY)
From 5 to 7 p.m. head outside with a hands-on foraging and braiding session. Starting at the Burnside Medicinal and Herbal garden, Forest and Nature School teacher Ingrid Birker will lead this event and honour the respectful protocol of sweetgrass picking and braiding as outlined in this downloadable ArcGIS StoryMap. After the braiding, participants will harvest a few herbs such as Oregano, Savoury and Sage from the Burnside patch, and then finish by finding the funky female Ginkgo fruit. Participants should bring their own food safe collecting bags and dress accordingly as the foraging portion will be an outdoor pedestrian walking tour.
All are welcome but places are limited so book your spot today!
