This workshop offers a structural critique of Open Access (OA) publishing by examining the pressures, constraints and motivations that situate it within academia, research funding environment and the publishing industry. It lays out the systemic inequities that are created and reinforced through these three intersecting systemic contexts and offers strategies for addressing and navigating them.
