We’re excited to welcome SIS students to the reference desk for job shadowing! Please meet your librarian in the Lobby of the Humanities and Social Sciences Library. To help make the experience smooth and enjoyable for everyone, please keep the following guidelines in mind:

1. One shadowing shift per student
   To make sure all interested students get a chance to participate, you can sign up for one shadowing shift.

2. Sign up at least seven days before your shift
   Our system won’t allow you to register with less than a week’s notice, so please plan ahead when selecting your shift.

3. If you can’t attend, please let us know
   No‑shows create challenges for staff and other students. If something unexpected comes up, please contact the supervising librarian as soon as you can so we can adjust the schedule.

4. Be thoughtful and engaged
   While shadowing, be mindful of the librarian’s work, the flow of questions at the desk, and the needs of our library users. Your curiosity and respectful presence make the experience more meaningful.
