This workshop is designed for researchers considering open access (OA) publishing and seeking to learn more about OA subsidies, author rights, and recent developments in scholarly publishing. At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

• articulate the major types of OA publishing models (including both publisher and platform based), 
• identifying a list of OA journal titles in music, 
• point out the level of OA subsidy available from McGill using SciFree Search Tool, 
• distinguish between preprint, postprint, and publisher's version, and 
• describe the key differences in author rights and dissemination of research between OA and non-OA publications.
