Biography

Heidi Bishop (BA, MA History, Royal Holloway, University of London) has worked in publishing for over 25 years and been a Publisher/Senior Editor for nearly 20. She developed the Music Studies list at Ashgate Publishing from its very early beginnings and continued this work when Ashgate was acquired by Routledge (Taylor and Francis) in 2015. She commissions monographs (single-authored and edited collections), handbooks, companions and supplementary texts in the areas of popular music, music and culture, theory and analysis, aesthetics, psychology of music (including in the area of music education research), screen music, music and gender, sociology of music, music and politics as well as classical music and opera from the medieval era up to the present day and contemporary music.
