DESCRIPTION:La version française suit \n\nThoughtful collection 
 development is a significant curatorial responsibility for librarians and 
 archivists. Each year\, Rare Books and Special Collections actively 
 collects new materials through donation and purchase to support the 
 evolving research\, teaching\, and learning interests of the McGill 
 community. As part of this work\, staff engage in a wide variety of 
 activities including critically assessing collections\, identifying areas 
 or subjects as collecting priorities\, reviewing possible donations\, 
 conducting research\, and relationship building with community 
 stakeholders\, book dealers\, and donors. \n\n\n\nNew at McGill highlights 
 recent additions in several of the library’s collecting areas\, including 
 botany\, astronomy\, architecture\, and the works of Voltaire. This 
 exhibition invites visitors to discover new areas of interest and learn 
 about the diversity of material found in Rare Books and Special 
 Collections. Over 30 items are on display\, representing more than 400 
 years of history\, creativity\, and knowledge production. \n\nWhere: Rare

 nouveau à McGill : acquisitions récentes du département des Livres rares 
 et collections spéciales\n\nLa gestion réfléchie des collections est une 
 responsabilité importante pour les bibliothécaires et les archivistes. 
 Chaque année\, le département de Livres rares et collections spéciales 
 de l’Université McGill acquiert de nouveaux ouvrages\, archives et 
 artéfacts\, qui proviennent de dons et d’achats\, afin de répondre à 
 l’évolution des besoins et intérêts des chercheurs et chercheuses\, 
 des enseignants et des étudiants. Pour accomplir cette mission\, le 
 personnel du département entreprend de multiples activités : évaluation 
 critique des collections\, identification des domaines ou des sujets 
 prioritaires\, travail de recherche soigné et le développement d’un 
 rapport avec des parties prenantes\, des bouquinistes et des 
 donateurs.\n\nL’exposition Du nouveau à McGill présente les plus 
 récentes acquisitions dans plusieurs domaines\, tels que la botanique\, 
 l’astronomie\, l’architecture et les ouvrages de Voltaire. Les 
 visiteurs sont invités à explorer toute la richesse des collections et à 
 découvrir de nouveaux sujets. Plus de 30 articles font partie de
